What are the things that break a fast? And is there such a thing as a third or fourth gender?
"Previous statements have clarified what invalidates the fast. As for the matter of a 'third' or 'fourth gender,' Allah Almighty created humans as male and female, as stated in His words: 'And He made from him the two sexes, the male and the female.' (Qur’an 75:39) Allah may sometimes combine the characteristics of both male and female in a single human, which is known as an intersex person (khuntha mushkil). Some common folk have denied the existence of intersex individuals, but this demonstrates ignorance of the language, a lack of eloquence, and a limited understanding of the vastness of divine power. For Allah is All-Encompassing, All-Knowing. The apparent meaning of the Qur’an does not negate the existence of intersex individuals, as Allah says: 'To Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth; He creates what He wills.' (Qur’an 42:49) Perhaps what is referred to today as the 'third gender' are effeminate men (mukhannathun). As for the 'fourth gender,' its meaning is unknown."
