"Obeying the mother's command to travel is not obligatory if it causes harm to the son and his family. However, if it is possible to combine obedience to the mother with securing the family's interests by taking them with you, that is more preferable and better. You are still obliged to be dutiful to your mother, treat her kindly, and obey her in what is good. It should be noted that a wife has the right that her husband not be absent from her for more than six months without a valid excuse."
