What is the ruling on trading animals —especially monkeys, dogs, and cats— online?

Scholars have differed regarding the ruling on selling monkeys. The Hanafis and Shafi'is permitted it for the purpose of guarding. The Malikis and Hanbalis differed on this matter. The Malikis do not permit its sale due to its lack of benefit, while the Hanbalis consider its sale permissible for guarding, but not for play. The apparent ruling is that its sale is permissible for guarding, as it is a permissible benefit. Selling via the internet is permissible, provided it adheres to Islamic regulations.
