Why did Solomon wish for a kingdom that none after him would have, even though a Muslim wishes well for others?

The exegetes mentioned several interpretations regarding the meaning of the supplication of Solomon (peace be upon him): "not befitting for anyone after me" [Surah Sad: 35]. Among them is that he sought a miraculous kingship to serve as a proof of his prophethood, or that he feared that if someone else were given a kingship like his, they might not uphold the boundaries of Allah within it, or a kingship that would not be taken away and in which no one else could stand in his place. It is also probable that Allah knew that Solomon alone could bear the burdens of this great kingship, so He commanded him to ask for it. Or Solomon intended thereby the grandeur and vastness of the kingship.
