Must a traveler on a four-day tourist trip, with a fifth day for return, fast in Ramadan, knowing that he is staying in a hotel?

If the destination country is at a distance that permits qasr (shortening prayers), then it is permissible to avail oneself of the travel concessions upon leaving the city and completely passing beyond its boundaries. If the traveler intends to stay four days or more, not counting the days of entry and departure, then they must pray in full and fast. However, if they intend to stay for less than four days, they may shorten their prayers and break their fast, unless they pray behind a resident imam, in which case they must complete the prayers with him.
