Is marriage to a Christian woman who believes in the existence of God but refuses to utter the two declarations of faith (Shahada), claiming ignorance of Islam, valid in Islamic law?

Allah has permitted marriage to chaste Muslim women and chaste women from among the People of the Book, based on His saying, "And chaste women from among the believers and chaste women from among those who were given the Scripture before you." This is an exception to the prohibition of marrying polytheist women.

If a woman is not from the People of the Book, for example, if she is an atheist, then it is not permissible to marry her. The marriage contract is invalid, and one must separate from her. However, the children are attributed to him due to his ignorance of the prohibition.

Her acknowledging the existence of a god or religions is not sufficient unless she embraces Islam or a religion of the People of the Book.

However, if she is a woman of the Book and refused to embrace Islam at the time of the contract, the marriage is legally valid, and one must continue to invite her to Islam through encouragement and good example.
