- Suicide is one of the gravest sins, and the one who commits suicide will be punished with that by which he killed himself.

- A male reaches puberty by the emission of semen, or the growth of coarse hair around the private parts, or by completing 15 lunar years.

- A female reaches puberty by the aforementioned signs, in addition to menstruation.

- It is not a condition for all signs to appear; one sign is sufficient.

- Accountability is lifted from the non-pubescent child until he has a wet dream; according to the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "The Pen has been lifted from three: from the sleeper until he awakens, from the child until he reaches puberty, and from the insane person until he regains his sanity."

- There is no punishment in the Hereafter for a child if he committed something before the age of puberty.
