When is the Fajr prayer?

The time for Fajr prayer begins at the appearance of the true dawn (al-Fajr al-Sadiq), which is the horizontal whiteness across the horizon not followed by darkness. Its time extends until sunrise, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "And the time for Fajr is as long as the sun has not risen."
