It is not permissible for a father to prevent his daughter from marrying a suitable man due to a defect in her; rather, this defect makes marriage to her more obligatory. The guardian must inform the suitor of the defect, because he has the right to annul the marriage due to it, and concealing it is deceit and fraud. The father should be persuaded to agree, otherwise, she may take her case to court for the judge to marry her.
