What is the ruling on the Imam praying over a deceased person outside the mosque while the worshippers are inside it, given that the worshippers are to the left of the Imam when the prayer is being established?

The majority of scholars permit offering the funeral prayer for the deceased in the mosque. Their evidence is the hadith of Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) when she ordered that the funeral of Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas be brought through the mosque so she could pray over him, and she mentioned that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) prayed over Suhayl ibn al-Bayda in the mosque. This view has been supported by Al-Shafi'i, Ahmad, Ishaq, and Malik.
