Is it permissible to pray in a place where deceased bodies are temporarily placed awaiting the funeral prayer, knowing that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade praying towards graves?

A group of scholars disliked placing the bier (janazah) in the mosque, and this dislike intensified if it was placed in front of the worshippers (in their qiblah direction), because this is considered praying towards the deceased. This is a problem that has afflicted the people of Mecca and other countries. Therefore, it is preferable to place the bier outside the mosque and bring it in when the prayer is intended. It is known that the predominant practice of the Prophet, peace be upon him, was to pray over the deceased in the musalla (prayer area) outside the mosque, even though praying over it inside the mosque is valid. If the bier is placed in a room, the ruling depends on whether the room is considered part of the mosque, entered by worshippers, or if it is outside of it.
