Is it permissible for us to ask Allah to show us how He resurrects the dead, by analogy with the request of our master Abraham (peace be upon him): "Have you not believed? He said, 'Yes, but to satisfy my heart'"?

Ibrahim (peace be upon him) did not doubt Allah's ability to resurrect the dead. Rather, his question was about how the resurrection would occur, so that he could elevate from 'ilm al-yaqin (knowledge of certainty) to 'ayn al-yaqin (sight of certainty), as indicated by his statement: "but so that my heart may be at ease." The Prophet (peace be upon him) alluded to this by saying: "We are more deserving of doubt than Ibrahim," explaining that Ibrahim did not doubt, but the Prophet said that out of humility. The purpose of his question was to ponder the how of resurrection, which is a legitimate matter for both people and prophets to increase faith or for da'wah (invitation to Islam), as happened with the boy of Al-Ukhdood and Tufayl ibn Amr Al-Dawsi.
