What is the ruling on one who believes that colors have an effect on a place or feeling, and is this considered among corrupt beliefs?

A distinction must be made between the varying relative effect of colors in aesthetic and psychological aspects, and the belief that each color is linked to a specific cosmic energy. The former is permissible, as the Quran refers to the effect of colors in bringing joy, such as the description of the yellow cow that delights beholders, and the green attire of the people of Paradise. As for the latter, it is blameworthy and contrary to Islamic law. It stems from Eastern pagan philosophies that believe colors have an inherent effect and special energy. This belief may reach the level of disbelief if it involves believing in a manager and planner of the universe other than Allah the Almighty.
