Is it permissible to dye hair blonde or red to conceal gray hair, even though dyeing it black is impermissible for the same reason (deception)?

Dyeing hair with colors other than black is permissible for everyone. It is also commendable to dye gray hair, provided there is no deception, fraud, or misrepresentation involved, such as when a person is proposing marriage and misleading potential spouses. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever cheats us is not of us, and cunning and deceit lead to Hellfire." It was narrated from Ibn Shihab that they used to dye their hair black when their faces were still youthful, but they would stop doing so when their faces and teeth had aged. Therefore, if dyeing hair blonde or red is intended for deceit and fraud, then it is not permissible; otherwise, it is commendable.
