Is covering walls with the wallpaper prevalent in Europe, which is used for decoration and is of comparable price to ordinary paint, considered among the wall coverings forbidden in the Hadith?

Covering walls with wallpaper does not fall under the prohibition of covering walls with cloth, because it is more akin to paint and is damaged if removed, and it serves as a substitute for paint. One must avoid extravagance, wastefulness, pride, and arrogance when using it. If a person is moderate in its use and does not exaggerate in purchasing expensive types, while guarding against pride, then there is no harm in it.
