What is the ruling of Islam on not fasting Ramadan due to suffering from diabetes that causes harm?

A sick person with an incurable disease must feed one poor person for each day he misses, equivalent to a mudd of the staple food of the land. The questioner should count the days he missed and feed one poor person for each day. He is not required to offer another expiation for delaying the expiation from past years. Repetition of expiation applies only to those who were able to make up the days but did not, whereas for an elderly person, this is not repeated due to a lack of negligence.
