Is it permissible for me to divide the profits from selling the book "A Description of the Prayer" - which costs 350 Algerian Dinars - into two halves, one for me and the other for prizes for an academic competition based on questions from the book itself, knowing that purchasing the book is necessary to answer, and that I advise students to benefit from the book and not just for the competition?

Some scholars have permitted this type of competition under two conditions: that the price of the commodity is not increased because of the competition, and that the buyer intends to purchase the commodity for its own sake, not for the competition. If the price is not increased, then there is no objection from the seller's side. As for the buyer, it is not permissible for him to purchase unless he genuinely desires the commodity itself, not merely to obtain the prize. It is preferable to avoid these competitions to prevent purchasing commodities solely for the purpose of the competition.
