What is the way for a wife to rid herself of the psychological and physical harm inflicted upon her due to her شرعي (Sharia-compliant) hijab in the lands of the disbelievers, given her husband's refusal for her to return to the lands of Islam, and what can help her to persevere?

Residing in lands of disbelievers is not permissible for one who does not feel secure from temptation (fitna) or cannot uphold the rituals of his religion, such as a woman's hijab.

However, if one feels secure for himself, can uphold the rituals of his religion, and his travel is for a legitimate purpose, such as seeking knowledge that Muslims need and which is only available in those lands, then there is no harm in it.

Therefore, be patient with your husband's studies and seek your reward from Allah. Gently inform him of what you are experiencing. Minimize your outings from the home and fill your free time with beneficial activities, such as reading, seeking knowledge, and memorizing the Quran. Get to know righteous women and cooperate with them, and seek refuge in Allah through remembrance (dhikr) and supplication (du'a).
