Is it permissible to combine prayers under the circumstances of a resident physician's work, which requires staying for long hours in surgical operations, making it difficult to perform each prayer on time or to maintain the regular supererogatory prayers (Sunan Rawatib)?

If a doctor finds it difficult to perform the prayer at its prescribed time due to his work, it is permissible for him to combine prayers. If he does not find time to perform the supererogatory Sunnah prayers, there is no sin upon him. It is also permissible for him to pray alone if he fears for the patient from leaving them. He must fear Allah and limit his examination of patients to what is necessary, lower his gaze, and avoid being alone with women or speaking to them unnecessarily, so that his work becomes an act of worship for which he will be rewarded.
