What is the ruling on one who abandons prayer in a secular society, and what are the ways to repent and avoid corruption, knowing that mosques in Algeria close after each prayer?

Repentance is continuously urged in every place, and a Muslim should hasten to repent by avoiding sins, resolving not to return to them, increasing companionship with righteous people to benefit from their knowledge, and being wary of bad company. Mosques are places for the worship of Allah, and they are to be built up with faith, prayer, recitation of the Quran, and i'tikaf (spiritual retreat). They must be a place for everything that brings general benefit to Muslims, and it is permissible to close them for a legitimate benefit, such as preserving their contents.
