What is the ruling on saying: "O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the torment of Hell, from the torment of the grave, from the trials of life and death, and from the trials of the Antichrist (Al-Masih Ad-Dajjal)" after sending blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in prayer? Supplicating after invoking blessings upon the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, in the final Tashahhud is recommended, not obligatory. As for the latecomer (masbuq), some scholars are of the view that he should recite the Tashahhud and invoke blessings upon the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and supplicate, following his Imam. Others are of the view that he should not add anything more than the first Tashahhud.
