What is the ruling on selling artificial hair and wigs, and must the shop, which is the source of livelihood, be closed?

There are jurisprudential differences concerning wigs and synthetic hair. Our preponderant opinion is that it is permissible to wear a wig out of necessity and to remedy a defect, which makes its sale not forbidden. As for synthetic hair used for extensions, the preponderant opinion is that it is permissible provided there is no deception or resemblance to natural hair, as mentioned by Ibn Qudamah and Al-Nawawi. Therefore, there is no harm in selling synthetic hair. In conclusion, selling these materials is not forbidden according to the preponderant opinion.
