How do I deal with my parents' rejection of my commitment to religious obligations, and their considering it backwardness, given that I am subjected to pressure from them?

A Muslim woman must adhere to what Allah has enjoined upon her, and it is not permissible for her to agree with her parents on anything contrary to that; due to the Almighty’s saying: "But if they endeavor to make you associate with Me that of which you have no knowledge, do not obey them but accompany them in [this] world with appropriate kindness," and due to the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "There is no obedience in disobedience; obedience is only in what is right and lawful." We advise you to be patient in your religion and to increase your supplications during prayer; due to the Almighty’s saying: "O you who have believed, seek help through patience and prayer. Indeed, Allah is with the patient." You should also frequently recite the prescribed supplications, and know that the rectification of affairs in this world and the Hereafter lies in fearing Allah Almighty; due to His saying: "And fear Allah that you may receive mercy," and in the Hadith: "Indeed, a man is deprived of provision because of a sin he commits."
