Is immediate possession a condition for money in a sale?

Receiving the price is not a condition for the validity of an absolute sale, except in the case of a forward sale (Salam), where the full price must be received at the contracting session. Similarly, in currency exchange (Sarf) and the sale of usurious commodities that share the same underlying cause for usury, the exchange of both counter-values is stipulated.
