What is the ruling on using silver-plated vessels for serving teacups, and if they are prohibited, is it permissible to use them for holding perfumes?

Scholars have differed regarding the ruling on using a vessel coated with silver. The Hanbalis are of the view that it is forbidden, whereas the more correct opinion among the Shafi'is is that it is permissible to use it as long as the silver cannot be extracted from it after exposing it to fire. The Malikis have two opinions: one prohibiting it and another permitting it. As for the Hanafis, they unanimously permit its use because the coating is consumed and cannot be extracted. However, it is advisable not to use it to avoid dispute.
