What are the negative impacts of satellite channels on the Islamic society?

Some of the negatives of satellite channels are: wasting time, neglecting duties, transmitting the cultures of infidel nations, and spreading obscenity and permissiveness. Their general nature contradicts chivalry, modesty, and noble morals, and they do not give any weight to religion. Among their positives are: keeping abreast of news and some useful programs in religion, history, and sciences. However, their harms are far greater than their benefits, and these benefits can be obtained through other means. Averting harm takes precedence over acquiring benefits.
