Is it obligatory to pay hospital and telecommunications bills in America before returning permanently to the homeland, given financial hardship?

If invoices become due according to contracts and undertakings, they must be paid, because Allah Almighty commanded the fulfillment of contracts, and a Muslim is legally obligated to respect the laws of the land as long as they do not contradict Sharia. Furthermore, Muslims should be good role models in truthfulness, fulfilling covenants, and trustworthiness.
