Is prayer valid in trousers? Is it permissible to fold them up from the bottom to show the ankles? And is wearing trousers that go past the ankles but do not touch the ground considered an إسدال (letting down/trailing of garments)?

Scholars differ on the ruling concerning the lengthening of a garment below the ankles, whether it is forbidden (haram) or disliked (makruh). According to the opinion that it is forbidden, the questioner must raise or shorten his trousers so that they do not extend below the ankles, otherwise, he would be committing a sin.
