The estrangement between the husband and his friend, if it stems from worldly matters, must be ended, so that they may avoid the warning mentioned in the Hadith: "The gates of Paradise are opened on Mondays and Thursdays, and every servant who associates nothing with Allah is forgiven, except for a man between whom and his brother there is animosity. Then it is said: 'Look at these two until they reconcile.'" The better of the two who are estranged is the one who initiates the greeting. So, urge your husband to end the estrangement, and remind him of the importance of reconciliation and forgiveness. You can also speak with his friend's wife to encourage her to seek reconciliation, for Allah Almighty says: "There is no good in much of their private conversation, except for whoever enjoins charity or good or reconciliation between people. And whoever does that seeking means to Allah's approval - then We will give him a great reward."
