Is it obligatory to re-fast the entire week, or only to make up for the day on which one broke their fast due to swallowing blood?
Making a vow (nadhr) is initially disliked (makruh) and prohibited because it does not avert anything, and it is used to extract from the miserly. However, whoever makes a vow of obedience must fulfill it. If the one who made the vow breaks their continuous fasting vow without a valid excuse, they must restart the fasting from the beginning. But if they break it due to a valid excuse such as illness, travel, or menstruation, the continuity is not broken. Swallowing a small amount of blood unintentionally does not break the fast. However, if one intentionally swallows it while knowing it breaks the fast, then their fast is broken and they must restart it.
