The rights of parents are great, and being dutiful to them is among the greatest acts of devotion. Obeying them takes precedence. It was obligatory for you to obey your father by not marrying this woman. However, after the marriage, you are not obligated to divorce her at your father's request. You must be dutiful to him, treat him with kindness, and seek his forgiveness. It is not permissible for you to sever ties with your mother and siblings, even if your father requests it. Accusing people of immoral acts based solely on rumors is forbidden. If the accused person does not provide proof, they are liable to the punishment for slander. Marrying a divorced woman who has children is permissible; the criterion is religious commitment and good character.
