Why did Allah, Glory be to Him, create torment for those who disobey Him, even though He is free of any need for our suffering, and all of us are humans who are not free from error?

Allah created humankind for worship and made them tested by the religious rulings. Their destiny depends on the outcome of this test. Allah punishes the disobedient out of justice and rewards the virtuous out of grace. Allah did not create His servants to torment them, but rather for them to worship Him. He instilled in them a natural inclination towards monotheism and sent messengers as bearers of good news and as warners, so that the proof would be established against them. If a human deviates from the truth and deserves punishment, then that is their just recompense, and there is nothing in it that contradicts justice. Allah granted His servant free will and choice, and showed them the path of good and evil. The disobedient commits sins by their own choice and is not compelled to do so. Arguing by divine decree as an excuse for sins is the argument of the disbelievers. The servant must repent and turn to Allah if they err, for Allah has opened the door of repentance. All children of Adam are sinners, and the best of sinners are those who repent. Whoever argues by divine decree to excuse a sin resembles Iblis, and whoever repents resembles Adam.
