Who are the heirs of the father, and what is the share of each heir, if the father is survived by a wife, a single daughter, paternal brothers and sisters, and maternal brothers and sisters?

The method of inheritance distribution cannot be clarified until the heirs are definitively and unambiguously identified. If the heirs are: a wife, a daughter, full paternal brothers, and full maternal brothers; then the wife receives one-eighth due to the presence of a lineal descendant heir, and the daughter receives one-half. The full paternal brothers then divide the remaining inheritance by ta'sib (residuary heirship), with the male receiving the share of two females. As for the full maternal brothers, they are excluded by the lineal descendant heir. Note: The matter of inheritances is serious and complex, and a mere fatwa (religious edict) is not sufficient. Rather, it must be referred to the Sharia courts for investigation, as there might be an heir, bequests, debts, or other rights that take precedence over the rights of the heirs.
