It is not permissible for a son to take anything from his father's money except with his knowledge, permission, and consent. An exception to this is if the father is stingy and does not spend on his children for whom spending is obligatory upon him. In that case, it is permissible for them to take from his money, without his knowledge, what suffices them, in a reasonable manner. However, taking money through trickery and deception to spend it on luxuries is not permissible, and these amounts must be returned to the father or his forgiveness sought.
