Will a Muslim be rewarded for transmitting worldly knowledge to non-Muslims, and does the Hadith "When a person dies, his deeds cease except for three..." apply to him?

The knowledge mentioned in the Hadith, "or knowledge from which benefit is derived," includes both religious (Shariah) knowledge and beneficial worldly sciences. Any knowledge that brings benefit to people, its possessor will be rewarded for it after his death, if he leaves it behind for people to benefit from, provided that it is intended for the sake of Allah Almighty and the Hereafter. Religious knowledge is superior and yields greater reward, but worldly sciences such as engineering and medicine, if undertaken with a good intention like serving others, will also earn reward for their practitioner. As for knowledge for which there is no reward in acquiring it during one's lifetime, its reward will not continue after one's death.
