How does one resort to Almighty Allah, and what should I do? And what is the formulation of the answered supplication for forgiveness to be rid of life's problems caused by people who do not fear Allah?
We advise you to be mindful of Allah and to seek refuge in Him, for whoever is mindful of Allah, Allah will make a way out for him from every difficulty, and He, glorified be He, is with the mindful. We also advise you to frequently supplicate to Allah and to adhere to seeking forgiveness; for whoever constantly seeks forgiveness, Allah will make for him a way out of every difficulty, and a relief from every worry, and will provide for him from where he does not expect. Various formulas for seeking forgiveness have been mentioned in the prophetic Sunnah, including: Sayyid al-Istighfar (the master of seeking forgiveness): "O Allah, You are my Lord, there is no god but You. You created me, and I am Your servant..." And the supplication of the Prophet (peace be upon him) in his prostration: "O Allah, forgive me all my sins..." And his (peace be upon him) saying: "My Lord, forgive me and accept my repentance, for You are the Accepter of Repentance, the Most Merciful." And the supplication of Abu Bakr: "O Allah, I have indeed wronged myself greatly..." And the opening supplication (Du'a al-Istiftah): "O Allah, distance me from my sins..." And his saying in bowing and prostration: "Glorified are You, O Allah, our Lord, and with Your praise. O Allah, forgive me." And the saying: "I seek forgiveness from Allah, other than Whom there is no god, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer, and I repent to Him." And the supplication: "My Lord, forgive me for my sin, my ignorance, and my extravagance in all my affairs..."
