Does "the Great Spirit" mean Allah?

There is no text from revelation that mentions the term "the Greatest Spirit," nor did the early Salaf scholars apply it to Allah Almighty, because Allah's names are definitive [i.e., fixed and not subject to human derivation]. Some later scholars applied it to Jibreel (Gabriel), Adam, or Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him. It is worth noting that naming Jibreel as "the Spirit" has been affirmed in numerous texts, such as Allah's Almighty sayings: "And We supported him with the Holy Spirit," "Say, the Holy Spirit has brought it down from your Lord," and "The Trustworthy Spirit has descended with it."
