If the father divorces the mother with a final, triple divorce, then the mother must separate from him. If the father denies the divorce and the mother has no proof, then it is not permissible for her to remain with him, and she must free herself from him through khul'. As for the father drinking alcohol, he must be advised and enjoined to do good and forbidden from evil with gentleness. It is not permissible to assist him in this in any way, nor is it permissible to take his money without his knowledge to prevent him from buying alcohol. Rather, the matter should be referred to the Sharia judge.
