What is the ruling on being too shy to supplicate for oneself, and only supplicating for others?

Supplication to Allah Almighty is one of the greatest acts of worship, and a Muslim should not be ashamed to supplicate to Allah Almighty for himself regarding all his needs. Examples of prophets supplicating for themselves first, and then for their brethren, have been mentioned in the Holy Qur’an and the Prophet’s Sunnah. It is recommended for a Muslim to supplicate for his brethren in their absence.
