Is it permissible to film and publish video clips of the execution of hudud punishments (such as qisas and stoning) for the purpose of admonition and deterrence, by analogy with the Almighty's saying: "And let a party of the believers witness their punishment"?

It has been previously explained that filming and publishing videos of theenforcement of hudud punishments is impermissible, and that admonition and deterrence are achieved by a group witnessing the hudud enforcement. Filming it could lead to gloating or entertainment, and thus, blocking the means [to evil] is required. A study by Dr. Muhammad Ahmad Ali Wasil demonstrated that filming the person upon whom hadd is being enforced, for the purpose of deterrence and admonition, is forbidden, even if ordered by the judge. This is because the person undergoing hadd does not deserve the disgrace of being filmed, and because it is an addition to the divinely prescribed punishment without justification.
