Some of the hadiths mentioned regarding the virtues of Egypt and its people are authentic, while others are weak. Among the authentic ones are: "You will conquer a land where the qirat (a unit of weight/measure) is mentioned, so treat its people kindly," and "Fear Allah, fear Allah concerning the Copts of Egypt, for you will conquer them, and they will be a source of strength and assistance for you in the path of Allah." Egypt has also been mentioned in several Quranic verses.
