Al-Firdaws is a name for Paradise as a whole, and it is also its highest, best, and most honorable degree due to its proximity to the Throne. Reaching it is not easy, and its inhabitants are those who hasten to good deeds. The degrees of Paradise vary, and Al-Firdaws is the most elevated among them. No detailed description of the bliss of the people of Al-Firdaws has been reported, except that it is the highest of abodes, that above it is the Throne of the Most Merciful, and from it gush forth the four rivers of Paradise.
