The answer

The soul's aspiration for what is most beneficial to it in this world and the hereafter is commendable in Islamic law, as the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Be keen on what benefits you, seek Allah's help, and do not be helpless." This is not considered dissatisfaction with divine decree, for Allah has decreed destinies with their causes. It is not permissible to abandon work relying on destiny, because what is in the Preserved Tablet is known only to Allah. Hope is a subtle secret; without it, no one would enjoy life. What is blameworthy of it is to indulge in it excessively and not prepare for the hereafter.
