Will a wife be rewarded for her patience with her ill-mannered husband?
Married life is a dwelling and a comfort, but Satan seeks to disturb it. He places his throne on water and dispatches his troops, and the one held in highest esteem by him is he who separates a man from his wife. A wife's patience with her husband's abuse is considered a war against Satan and a means of gaining the pleasure of the Most Merciful. She should strive to advise him through various direct and indirect means, while continuing to obey and do good, in accordance with the Almighty's saying: "Nor can goodness and evil be equal. Repel evil with what is best, then verily he, between whom and you was enmity, (will become) as though he was a close friend. But none is granted it except those who are patient, and none is granted it except the owner of the great portion (of happiness in the Hereafter and in this world)."
