Is it permissible for a woman to wear shoes that do not cover the entire foot outside the home, while wearing socks underneath so that the foot (from below the ankles to the toes) is not visible, such as wearing sandals with socks?

There is no harm for a woman in wearing footwear that does not cover the foot, as long as the covering is achieved by socks. However, if the socks are transparent, it is not permissible because they describe the foot. Imam Ahmad said: "Her fingernail, which is attached to her [body], is 'awrah. So when she goes out, nothing of her should appear, nor her thin slipper, for it describes the foot." The Sharia did not specify a particular type of clothing for women; rather, she must cover her body with any clothing that meets the Sharia conditions. The Sharia has indeed condemned excessive questioning and delving into details.
