Is it permissible for me to shorten and combine prayers if I travel a distance of 100 km, knowing that I will return to my city on the same day?

If the mentioned distance is calculated after leaving the inhabited houses of the town, then it is permissible to combine Maghrib and Isha prayers, with the recommendation to shorten Isha. However, if the return is after midnight, it is not permissible to delay the prayer because the time for Isha and Maghrib expires at midnight. The ruling of travel is nullified for one who has a spouse with whom he has consummated marriage, or a similar situation, in Dammam during his stay there.
