Do sins that do not invalidate an act of worship diminish its reward, even if one seeks forgiveness and repents from them?

Whoever fasts and disobeys Allah, their fast is not invalidated, but the sin diminishes its reward. However, Al-Awza'i and Ibn Hazm held the view that a fast is invalidated by sins. The Hadith (definition): "Whoever does not abandon false speech and acting upon it, Allah has no need for him to abandon his food and drink," indicates the danger of sins during fasting. As for one who seeks forgiveness and repents, we hope for good for them and the wiping away of their sins, according to the Hadith: "The one who repents from sin is like one who has no sin." And Allah transforms the evil deeds of the repentant into good deeds, as stated in the verse: "Except for those who repent, believe, and do righteous deeds; for those, Allah will change their evil deeds into good deeds."
