Istihadah is the flowing of blood from a woman outside of its regular time, from the "Aadhil" vein. Consequently, it necessitates performing Wudu for every prayer after its time has begun, and permits acts of worship according to the majority of scholars. It is permissible for her husband to have intercourse with her, and for her to enter the mosque, provided it does not lead to its defilement.

The continuous flow of istihadah blood may be due to two reasons: an organic illness or influence from Satan. The remedy for this is to seek refuge in Allah, seek protection from Satan, fortify oneself with adhkar (remembrances) and recitation of the Quran, without neglecting lawful medical treatment.
