What is the ruling on reading erotic stories and masturbating while doing so, and what are the ways to completely distance oneself from that?

It is not permissible to read salacious stories due to their enticing nature for Muslims, their promotion of vice, and their distortion of minds, for those who love that indecency should spread will have a painful torment in this world and the Hereafter. Moreover, masturbation is forbidden, so whoever reads sexual stories and practices it has fallen into two prohibitions. The way to preserve one's chastity is marriage, and whoever is unable to do so should fast.
