Is it certain that Allah will forgive whoever repents with a repentance that fulfills all its conditions, or is there a possibility of forgiveness and its absence, and are sins erased by repentance?

Scholars have differed on the certainty of the acceptance of a servant's repentance if its conditions are met. Some are of the view that it conveys a strong presumption, not certainty, while others assert its acceptance. The preponderant opinion is that repentance from any sin, no matter how great, is accepted if its conditions are fulfilled; for Allah accepts the repentance of His servants out of His grace and generosity, as indicated by the religious texts. Allah the Almighty said: "Indeed, Allah forgives all sins."
